It’s A New Year

That’s right it’s a new year! A new set of challenges for those of us who work at real jobs and those of us who don’t. It will be interesting to say the least if I do any more blogging than I have over the past year. Right now I’m just busy with life and the things that go along with that. Since this is supposed to be an election year we might have a whole lot of interesting things taking place in the months to come. I think we’ll still end up with the same folks in office that are presently there now, just my opinion mind you. As for me, just doing the real job and trying to get by. Hopefully I’ll get a little more involved in this blogging thing if I have something to post. If not, then it will be far and few post just like it has been ever since I started this thing. That’s life!

Approaching Winter

Well, it’s December and another year is almost gone. Wow, where has the time gone. For me, we’ll things are pretty much the same. Not a whole lot has changed since the last post. I’ve still not moved along with my novel, which in reality may never come to print. But that’s life. Sometimes we do things just to be doing them. In the end, it’s just important to have done something even if it does not get wide acclaim from the world at large. Perhaps in time I will discover something that will be worth putting to paper or Internet that will cause folks to ponder for a good long time. Right now, I’m just living life and doing the best I can from one day to the next.

Into Fall

Summer is now behind us. It’s now cooler and rainy today. It’s been a little over a month now since I’ve posted anything, so it looks like for the most part a post a month. I’d like to have more to say and express words of wisdom, but right now it’s late and I need to head to bed. Tomorrow will be a moderate day and not as busy as today. Still looking for little gems to pass along, but finding those has been a little harder than usual of late. Right now, I’ll just settle for posting things when I can.

Long Hot Summer

Looks like we’re in the middle of a long hot summer. This is an uncomfortably warm time for this area and from looking at the weather maps, looks like it’s that way for virtually the entire Midwest. Perhaps as we ease toward fall the hot stuff will cool down a bit and we can enjoy some outdoor activities that will not leave us sweating profusely. Notice that I did not say sweating like pigs because pigs do not sweat. Perhaps the term, “sweating like pigs” was created as slang for folks who did not lift a finger while attempting to work. I will not care that any further than already stated.

I’m sure that ice cream places are doing a remarkable business because of this hot weather. I’m sure that my electric bill will be rather higher than normal this month because of the heat. Such is life. Hopefully we will not have a severe cold weather to add to this long hot summer. We can only hope for a mild one at best. Anyway, there you have it, my thoughts for today. It will probably be a long while before I post again as is my nature.

Another Long Pause

Life is full of stuff! Things happen that we have no control over and causes us to become ship wrecked for weeks and even months at a time. Such as been the case of trying to get into blogging. For the most part I’ve been very content just to do what I’ve been doing, which is really nothing, and see what happens with things. I suppose I should really state that if I get around to blogging I will, if I don’t then I will not. Simple. So therefore I will not really get bent out of shape if I post anything here over long periods of time or not. One must live one’s life as it goes on and not worry about little trivial things like blogging. Perhaps in time I will return here with some grand words for the world to read, if not, that’s okay too.

Random Act of Kindness

This afternoon when I came home I pulled into the garage, got out and decided to check the mail. As I started to step I looked down and saw this bumble bee on it’s back near the rear tire. Kind of puzzled as how this little creature got there, I noticed he was on his back struggling to get right side up. I figured the bumble bee might have slammed into the car as I was entering the garage. If I hadn’t looked down I probably would have stepped on him. So, I got a piece of paper, got him to grab hold and took him to some flowers out by the front porch where I put him off. As I went inside the house I got this peaceful feeling of relief and a sudden lightness just flooded over me. This random act of kindness, if to this lowly insect, is how it’s suppose to be (no pun intended)!

Face Lift

Today I came back to the blog thingy to see what I might do with it. First thing caught my eye was the idea of changing the look of the page and therefore I considered a new theme. This took a little while as I previewed just about everything to see how things would look. Keeping in mind that one can like one theme and another, but settling on something also dictates considerable choices as well. I decided on the current theme as it was bright and afforded an “artsy” feel to it.

I don’t know if having a new theme will inspire me to come back and write more stuff, but it might. Right now I’m going through a very trying time at my real job and that has had most of my focus for the last several months. I’m hoping to have things resolved there pretty soon. Maybe then I’ll have more time to come back here and write things.

Not-so-Post

Today I read back through my postings and the one thing that is very clear is that I don’t get here very much and most of the posts are about not having time and thoughts to post. So, it looks like this is going to be another one of those not-so-post kind of post. I have been trying to do some writing of late, but the pay-check job has kept me rather busy of late. Things with this has changed considerably since my last mention of the real job on this blog. Things are scary tight with the present economy and the icon I work for is facing serious financial troubles. But, with the current trend of things, everyone is probably in this same boat.

Again, I checked the stats and it does appear that no one comes by this place on a regular basis. That’s life. Perhaps if I had something interesting to say or show, then perhaps I would get a lot of traffic here. It’s okay, right now I’m just rambling about life and stuff and it’s not important if anyone knows about it at all.

As I said earlier, writing is difficult right now with my schedule, but hopefully I’ll get back to doing some of that soon. As with wine, some things have to age before they’re any good. I laugh when I think about that statement, but it’s kind of true. When you get older you learn that life is not necessarily about all the toys you have accumulated in your quest for success and happiness. Real peace of mind only comes when you are at peace with yourself and the things in your life; for good or bad. This life of ours is a journey that will steer the course for what’s beyond. Some may think that nothing lies beyond the finality of life; but there is whether we accepted or not; believe it or not.

One day, hopefully soon, I’ll have more interesting things to post. For right now, these few words will have to remain as the thoughts of the past few months. Carry on, we’ll see what lies ahead.

Few Words

I told myself I would try harder this year to do more stuff to this blog thing, but it would appear that the stretch of time between now and the first of the year has gotten more than 30 days gone by. I have thought about just trashing this thing and forgetting it, but every now and again I’ll come by and decide that I need to post something, anything, to put a few words on the Internet. Few words they are most of the time. Maybe this year I will get around to writing something more solid than I have been in the past, but for now, these few words will have to do.

The Day After

Here it is, the day after Christmas. We did get a white Christmas this year as a major winter storm front dumped about 4 to 5 inches of snow here in the mountains. Also heard that Atlanta had a white Christmas as well. It does kind of brighten things up a bit, though it makes the roads kind of tricky at times.

Course this is a sad Christmas this year again as we had another dear friend pass away right before the holidays. In fact this dear friend passed away a day after the second anniversary of another dear friend. Makes one want to celebrate Christmas at a different time of the year.

It’s the day after and the snow is coming down, the house is toasty and warm and our cats are all snoozing in various places. A lot of things are coming up in a few weeks and may not have any time to post on the old blog, but I’m never one to get back here on a regular basis. From checking the stats it would appear that hardly anyone comes by, so posting on a regular basis doesn’t seem very important then. I would imagine that it will be well into the new year before I make another post. Such is life and such is the day after.
